About Faversham Swimming Club
Faversham Swimming Club was established in 1964 and has long been a beloved institution within our town.
Our club currently has around 200 active members and is now attracting memberships from across Kent, driven both by our excellence and by our multi-disciplinary offering. Whilst there are several swim clubs in Kent and the towns surrounding Faversham, we are unique in the variety and number of disciplines we offer:
1. Traditional Learn to Swim Pathway: We of course offer the traditional swimming pathway of learn to swim, to swimming skills development, to competitive squad, but unlike most clubs we also have a newly invigorated Masters section - our oldest swimmer joined the club when he was 41 years old and he currently holds 5 county records in the 65-69 years Age Group set this year.
A number of our elite swimmers have competed at county, regional and even at national level and we even have a national champion on our books!
2. Water Polo: Our Water Polo section was awarded ‘Water Polo Club of the Year’ in the Swim England South East Regional Awards 2024.
We offer youth water polo across Minis, Intermediates and Juniors. We also have very active Men’s and Women’s teams, plus a successful affiliation with the University of Kent at Canterbury making the club available at a discounted rate to it’s students via the Kingsmead pool in Canterbury.
Our Water Polo teams compete in both the Kent and London League and 4 of our members have been selected for the Swim England Talent Pathway, which awards them a clear path to representing England. Furthermore, one of our members plays for South East Under 18s and was recently awarded the 2024 South East Junior Water Polo Player of the Year.
3. Artistic Swimming: Finally, we have our artistic swimming team who have recently had numerous successes at county level.
With a focus on providing top-tier training and fostering a strong community spirit, we are poised to make a lasting impact on the sporting landscape in Kent.
