About us
Our motto: “Build a boat/Row a boat”
This amazing community project got off the ground in early 2020 when the first boat kit was delivered. It continues to captivate more people by the week; building boats, confidence, motivation and a sense of belonging.
Our wooden rowing skiffs are being hand-crafted by Faversham’s children and adults; aged 12 to 87 years! Volunteers use hand tools, learn skills and help create a beautiful five-man skiff to be proud of. The camaraderie is wonderful between all ages and backgrounds.
A growing number of people are discovering the joy of rowing on Faversham Creek. Experienced rowers and complete novices love rowing our (so far) three skiffs: Avocet, Findlay Macdonald and Lena Reekie.
We have also taken our skiffs further afield for competitive rowing, including the Netherlands for the Skiffie World Championships and the Fareham Regatta.
Our vision for the future: More of the above … plus we aim to make embarking/disembarking our skiffs better suited for people living with disabilities. It's called “Adaptive Rowing”.
This project relies on donations, fundraising and the goodwill of our team of volunteers and we would be very grateful if you can support us.
Thank you for your support and good luck!
